Bethlehem Road: An Evening with Author Judy Lev
The Book Stall (811 Elm Street in Winnetka) welcomes author Judy Lev to the store on Monday, October 27 at 6:30 pm for a discussion featuring her new book, Bethlehem Road: Stories of Immigration and Exile. The twelve stories in this collection—often emotional, sometimes funny—convey the power, magic, and pain of place and examines one iconic street in Jerusalem where immigrants young and old struggle to find themselves between the years 1967 and 1999. Readers will be drawn to these poignant stories and their quirky cast of characters.
More about the Author: Judy Lev’s short stories and essays appear in leading literary journals, anthologies, and popular magazines. She is a writing teacher, mentor, and Pushcart Prize nominee. Her memoir, Our Names Do Not Appear, was published by Lioness Books in 2023; Bethlehem Road is her second book. A former Clevelander, Lev has lived in Israel since 1967, where she is mother to three and grandmother to five.
