Some New Trier students have founded BinaryHeart, a club whose objective is to distribute computers to needy students in an effort to aid those students in their journey to achieve higher education. The club collects donations of broken, obsolete, or discarded computer parts and uses them to fix or build new computers. Through the Monster Education Foundation, these computers are donated to gifted but poverty-stricken students in inner city Chicago.
BinaryHeart is hosting a collection event on Saturday, August 6, from 1 - 3pm at 277 Ridge Ave., Winnetka (one of the student’s homes).
Please consider donating your old desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and/or phones during this event. For more information, check out binaryheart.org.
