DESCRIPTION:Memorial Day 2018\, Monday May 28th     \n\nNew Trier VFW Post\, The Winnetka Park District and The Village of Winnetka are honored to have Captain Matt Schachman\, United States Army Ret. Lead and speak\,   Memorial Day in Winnetka. \n\n            \n\nWinnetka Memorial Day Parade\n\nThe presentation is provided in conjunction with\; The Winnetka Park District\, The Village of Winnetka\, local U.S. Coast Guard\, Scouting units\, a marching band\, and units from Great Lakes Naval Training Center.  The program includes: the parade down Elm Street to the Village Green\, singing of patriotic songs\, the presentation by local Boy and Girl Scout Units laying the wreath at the cenotaph\, our guest speakers\, the reading of all the Winnetka names lost during times of conflict\, followed by an VFW Honor Guard salute and the playing of Taps. \n\n\n\nMatt Schachman grew up in Wilmette and graduated from New Trier in 2001. After graduating he played junior hockey before attending West Point. Upon graduation in 2007\, Matt was commissioned as an Infantry Officer and served in Afghanistan and Iraq (12 months each)\, Hawaii\, and Georgia. He helped lead and build teams of various sizes and partnered with local leaders across a variety of religions\, cultures\, language and philosophies. Matt retired from Active Duty and attended North Western Kellogg for business school. After graduation in 2014\, he partnered with his team at Bank of America Merrill Lynch to advise clients on capital-raising (equity and debt)\, mergers and acquisitions (buy and sell-side) and corporate preparedness. He left investment banking in 2016 to become the founder and CEO of Chamberlain Advisors\, LLC.\; he is also an Operating Partner at Cold Bore Capital. Matt was recently elected to the School Board of Sacred Heart and he lives in Winnetka with his wife\, Laurie\, and four children (Ainsley\, Scarlett\, Cal and Blair).\n\n\n\n    All are Invited to join us at this patriotic observance
