Neva Egan will be our leader.  \n\n \n\nEven if you have not completed the book\, you will learn much about why our democracy is not secure\, and what steps need to be taken for its preservation.\nNEW YORK TIMES  BEST SELLER "HOW DEMOCRACIES DIE"\n\nTO  BE DISCUSSED BY LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS \nThe 2018 New York Times Best Seller\, How Democracies Die\, on how elected  political leaders gradually subvert the democratic process to increase their political power\, will be discussed on Wednesday\, August 7 at 7 pm in the  Lloyd Room of the Winnetka Public Library.  Using global examples\, Harvard political scientists  Steven Livitsky and Daniel Ziblatt demonstrate the ways we need to strengthen our American democracy.  Books are available at the Bookstall\, the library\, and Amazon.\n\nThis book discussion is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Winnetka-Northfield-Kenilworth.  Register for the discussion on the Winnetka Public Library website winnetkalibrary.org or 847-446-7220.  We look forward to having you join us for this important discussion on  our decliningly  democratic American government\, and what needs to be done.     The discussion leader will be Neva Egan of Winnetka.   The public is invited to attend the discussion even if they have not had time to read the book in its entirety.
