A Home of Her Own: Eleanor Roosevelt's Val-Kill
Over the course of her life, Eleanor Roosevelt lived in many houses including the White House. But her favorite home was Val-Kill, a cottage on her husband's Hyde Park, NY, estate. In this Salon, Beth Kelly, PhD, from DePaul University will tell us how this came to be, how the cottage became a woman-centered community, and how the home Eleanor found there played a role in shaping her as one of the most admired American women of the 20th Century.
